The official race beneficiary for the Standard Chartered Great City Race is Futuremakers, a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for young people.
One third of the entry fee from all Standard Chartered Great City Race participants will be donated to the Standard Chartered Foundation, which helps to fund Futuremakers’ education, employability and entrepreneurship programmes around the world. Standard Chartered will also match funds raised* for Futuremakers from the event, doubling the impact of your participation!
Globally, more than 200 million young people – often disproportionately impacted by the challenges of inequality – are out of work or live in low-income poverty. Futuremakers is committed to enabling disadvantaged young people, especially girls and the visually impaired, to gain new skills and expertise to improve their chances of getting a job or starting their own business.
Anyone can be a Futuremaker!

Why not support Futuremakers and do your bit to help? Follow the five steps below to get involved.
1. Choose your cause
Once you’ve secured your spot in the Standard Chartered Great City Race, choose to raise money for Futuremakers or another or cause you’re passionate about. This way you can connect with would-be donors and explain how your fundraising will help the charity.
2. Set up a fundraising page
Take your fundraising efforts to the worldwide web and set up an online giving page. Here you can add a profile photo, tell everyone your story, why you’re running for your chosen charity, and state your fundraising target.
3. Get social
Post regularly about your training progress and fundraising efforts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok and make sure you link to your fundraising page.
4. Be creative
From raffles and auctions to bake sales and coffee mornings, there is no shortage of ways to give your fundraising a boost. Fundraisers have also put on pub quizzes and curry nights in the past – don't be afraid to reach out to companies and business owners for help with prizes.
5. The final push
Ramp up your fundraising efforts in the final days before the race and make sure you’ve reached out to as many people as possible. Don’t forget to post about your race after the event – you could bring in some extra donations that take you beyond your target...
