Community Entries
Are you a London-based running group that supports the wellbeing of your local community?
If so, you might be eligible for discounted entry to The Big Half. Please read the FAQs below to see which groups are eligible.
Thank you to all the groups who applied for community entries to The Big Half. You will be notified about the outcome of your application shortly.
FAQs
Which groups are eligible to apply?
To apply, you need to be a London-based local group or organisation, community sports club, school, or local charity that supports the wellbeing of your local community.
Please note you are ineligible for community entries if you are based outside of London or are part of a charity that operates nationally or internationally.
How does the application process work?
Group leaders should apply via Let's Do This. The application will then be reviewed within 10 working days. Please note that if we require further information, we will contact you.
When is the application deadline?
Once all the entries have been allocated, the application window will close so don't wait to submit your application. The deadline to register your runners is 16:00 on Thursday 29 May.
I need help using Let's Do This
Please read this handy step-by-step guide that covers everything from logging in for the first time to applying. It also covers how to claim your entries if your application is successful.
If you have a question not covered, please email Let's Do This.
Do you offer concessions?
We want The Big Half to be open and accessible to everyone. Please email us if you are keen to participate but cannot afford the entry price, or receive Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance, Jobseeker’s Allowance or any other state support.
Is there a maximum number of entries we can apply for?
The current maximum is set at 100 entries per group, but this is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to apply for more than 100 places and are confident about filling them, please email us.
We've had community entries previously - are we still eligible?
Community groups that previously had entries are not necessarily still eligible. Please see the definition and if you are still unsure, email us.
Can individuals apply?
No, community entries are distributed to a group and its members. The groups do not have to be formal organisations, as per the definition (above).
Why have we been allocated fewer places than we requested?
Community entries are hugely popular and we have to manage the interest as best we can, which sometimes means allocating groups a smaller number of places, so we can distribute places fairly.
If you are keen for more, please fill your current allocation and then submit another request. We will then assess this according to the availability of places.
One of our runners can no longer take part - can we reallocate their place?
If you paid for the places upfront (‘Community group to pay’), you are able to cancel and re-allocate places in Let's Do This, read about this in the step-by-step guide.
However, if a runner has paid for their place, you won't be able to re-allocate it. In this instance, please ask them to email us.
If you would like to increase your allocation due to cancellations, please make another application for places, detailing this as the reason.
