Managing our environmental impact at the GetPRO Bath Half
Find out what steps we are taking to manage the environmental impacts of this incredible event.
Pre event
- Our entry system offers everyone the choice of having a tree planted instead of having a Finisher T-shirt through our partnership with Avon Needs Trees
- Runners can also choose to not take a medal and to have a unique finish-line photo with Bath Half selfie frames
- You.Smart.Thing. travel planning tool helps participants with their travel plans - highlighting the lowest carbon travel methods and offering the option to make a voluntary donation to remove the carbon emissions associated with their travel
On the day
- The finisher’s medal is made from recycled zinc alloy
- Event T-shirts are made from 100% recycled polyester
- There will be tap water refill stations at the start area and at the finish as well as at points around the course
- The cups we use are compostable or reusable (and are sent for composting)
- Generators are powered with HVO (a vegetable oil fuel that replaces diesel)
- Cups used for water stations are composted or reused
- Many of the event vehicles are electric
- Bike parking is available at the runners village
