The backstory

The Brighton Marathon Weekend was established in 2010

The event began with the Brighton Marathon and a free children's event, both of which have been held annually, except in 2020 when they were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2014, the BM10K was added to the weekend lineup.

In December 2022, London Marathon Events took over the organisation. The events were rebranded in 2023, introducing a new look and feel, and the Mini Mile was renamed the Brighton Miles, now open to all ages. In 2024, the 10K event was renamed the Brighton & Hove 10K.

The routes

The Brighton Miles is held within Preston Park, a favorite running spot for locals. The event will begin with a junior parkrun wave for those who usually take part in the Preston Park junior parkrun.

The Preston Park parkrun will take place as normal before the Brighton Miles.

The Brighton & Hove 10K

The event starts and finishes at Hove Lawns, showcasing Brighton’s seafront and some of the city’s most famous landmarks.

The Brighton Marathon

The marathon covers 26.2 miles across the city – starting in Preston Park it weaves through a number of neighbourhoods and has participants enjoy the coastline and city centre.
